Dear families,

We will be delivering our play services as usual up until 31st October 2026. We want to reassure families that Marble Hill Playcentres and the One O’Clock Club are not closing permanently. 

In an new a project, backed by UK Youth, our charity is undertaking the long-term planning this site needs to strengthen our community impact. Marble Hill Playcentres was formed in 1974 by two mothers determined to create a space for children to have meaningful play, a mission that is as important today. 23 adventure playgrounds have closed across England since 2017. We don’t want ours to become part of that statistic and Marble Hill Playcentres matters too much to this community for us to stand still.

This winter we are running a period of consultation, refurbishment and renewal of the site including a new mud kitchen and all-weather shelter.

While the regular seasonal programme will be closed from Nov-Feb, you can expect opportunities to stay involved including community events and fundraisers, and we’ll invite families to help shape what comes next.

If you are a SENsational Saturday family, Home education or have a Play Pass with us we will email to you separately with more information about this provision.

We also want to hear from you. Marble Hill Playcentres has been part of this community for more than fifty years, and we know many of you have grown up leaping off a giant red swing and hurtling down a zipwire, brought your own children to us, or built friendships here.

We’re particularly keen to hear directly from children and young people: what they enjoy at Marble Hill Playcentres, what matters most to them, and what they would like to see in future. We are very grateful to Claire and the Brilliant Play team for the care, experience and commitment they have brought to Marble Hill Playcentres and we are planning carefully for what comes next.
