Re-imagining Marble Hill Playcentres

As you already know, the much loved Playcentres very nearly closed in September 2017 and following a strategic review we have come together with two other charities, Skylarks (supporting children and families with additional needs) and Otakar Kraus Music Trust (providing music therapy to a range of people) to work on a vision for the Playcentres: a ground-breaking and unique community hub, working to unlock the Magic of Community, and magnifying the impact of each charity’s work.
With the support of English Heritage, Richmond Council and many others, the hub will bring together local people in a safe, inclusive, accessible space for indoor and outdoor play, activities and support for mainstream and SEND children and young people and their families. It will harness the power of music and play and be sustainable and harmonious within the heritage and beauty of Marble Hill Park. It will enable us to sustain our mission by opening year round with a new building on the existing footprint and reinvigorate the wonderful Adventure Playground. It will also include space for the Mandarin Ducklings Nursery, a great asset to the area.
The plans for the re-invigorated centre will be available to view at an evening event at York House on Monday 7th October from 6 – 8pm.
