Age Range : 0-15 years
Running every Saturday morning throughout the year, the Inclusive Play Project offers children with disabilities or additional needs time to explore the Adventure Playground with their families. No bookings are required and the sessions are completely free.
There are playworkers on site throughout to run activities, play games and offer a little respite for those who might need it. We make full use of all of the rope swings, cook together, do some den building, and make potions and other messy concoctions. It’s a dynamic environment where something that starts off as playing with mud can easily turn into some gardening or painting a picture with natural resources.
Over the years the regular parents and carers have developed an active social group, sharing information, advice or just being a friendly ear to listen.
Comments from our users in 2017:
"The playworkers who help at the sessions are excellent - patient, kind and understanding. We would be lost without it and it has become a key part of our week"
"This is the only place that my son really relaxes and trusts adults other than me to play with him and help him"
"From my point of view, this place has provided a sanctuary where I have access to a group of parents who understand what it is like to have a child with additional needs.”
